Description
This Gluten Free Dumplings Recipe is based on an old Polish recipe. Kluskies, a potato dumpling, are a delicious addition to any meal.
Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 1/2 pounds of potato
- 1 1/2 cups of gluten free (or regular flour)
- If you do not wish to make them yourself (simply purchase some premade gnocchi. My favorite for gluten free can be found here.)
- Dumplings (however many you make or buy)
- 1/2 cup - 1 cup of butter (salted)
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs (if using gluten free, I like the Schar gluten free breadcrumbs. If you wish to make them yourself, toast the bread a bit and then blitz it in your food processor.)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
If you are making your own dumplings:
- Boil your potatoes until they are nice and soft.
- Flour your surface and drain the potatoes once they are cooked through.
- Mix together your potatoes and flour. It will come together as if it is a dough. Roll it out into logs.
- Slice it up so that the dumplings are around the size of gnocchi.
- Place a pot of water on the stove, add salt.
- Bring to boil, add your dumplings. Once they float, they are finished. Set them aside.
If you are using premade:
- Boil your dumplings according to the instructions.
- While they are boiling, add your butter to a pan.
- Allow the butter to melt and then add your breadcrumbs into the pan.
- Once your dumplings are floating, transfer them into your pan.
- Make sure to coat all of the dumplings with the butter and breadcrumbs. Salt to season and taste along the way.
- Serve when they are a nice golden brown.
