Maple Miso Salmon Recipe: Make Easy Glazed Salmon

I love salmon for busy weeknights. I am a fan of fish, that is no surprise here. It is hard to beat a flaky salmon and lately my go to's have been my zaatar salmon, Christmas salmon (with the holiday approaching), and now this maple miso salmon. The sweet maple syrup paired with the umami flavor of the miso paste makes the miso maple glaze the ideal sauce for our salmon. The cooking time for everything in this recipe is under 30 minutes, Let's make this miso maple salmon.

⭐️ Tips, Tricks, and Alterations

Miso is a fermented soybean paste but it can occasionally be made from other sources (such as barley). Be sure if you are on a gluten free diet that you find a gluten free based miso paste.

In this recipe I use a red miso paste (often used in miso soup), which tends to be used for savory dishes in addition to marinades. White miso paste is used for sweeter dishes. If you cannot find red, you can use white, but, the flavor of the dish will be quite different.

Bake the salmon on parchment paper and not aluminum foil. I tend to use skin-on salmon fillets and it sticks to the foil. This is avoidable if using parchment paper.

Miso is available in most grocery stores. If you cannot find it, try to get to an Asian market or look on Amazon.

If you wanted to add some texture to the dish, you could top the salmon in addition to the glaze with sesame seeds or green onions.

If you want a head start and want to make this earlier in the day, you can make the marinade / glaze and let the salmon sit in it in the fridge for several hours. Pour the sauce from the bag or container you use to hold it along with the fish onto the sheet pan (make sure the salmon is covered in the sauce) and bake it.

For best results, always stick to the recipe card.
